A vast bamboo forest with endless textures and tones.
La Bambouseraie
vLa Bambouseraie is a remarkable botanical garden unlike anything else in France. The towering bamboo forest, shifting colours, immersive pathways -- all create a sense of calm and discovery. It’s a place where textures, tones, and light constantly change as you move through the landscape. I thought this may be a short visit to a park. After three hours I had not seen all aspects, my feet gave out!
1. The bamboo forest is massive and the height of the bamboo was impressive.
2. I loved the range of colours, tones and textures of the bamboo.
3. I had previously thought of bamboo as just being green. Not so — there are many colours. In creating the park species of bamboo from around the world were assembled to be in the park.
4. Bamboo has such detail - from segment joints to overall texture and colours.
5. The garden includes a bamboo village showing houses built on stilts.
